MEMBERS INDEX

We will update the stats pages at the website on Tuesday and Friday mornings. We will always publish stat histories for the next two series. The only time we plan to update on another schedule is around the All-Star break, when one update will be skipped while the Friendly Editor takes a vacation.

First 2006 update will be FRIDAY April 7

In the Logs at the bottom of the pages, nothing (blank space) in the year column means it is a 2005 game. Most will be '04' for awhile, with this year's games added as they are played. Run averages over 9.9 and ERA over 99.99 may show up as *.* or **.** sometimes. If a record has any games played and asterisks it means the average is too high - Phil did not spot & manually change it. :-)

If you go in after noon Pacific time on Tues. or Fri. and the stats do not seem to be updated, it probably means that your computer is looking at the old file. Many are unaware, but your program saves a copy of everything you look at to the hard drive. In Internet Explorer  under the 'View" menu, click 'Internet Options.' You will see in the middle 'temporary internet files'. Clear by clicking 'delete files' and then 'OK'. May be slightly different on newer IE versions. I don't know Netscape Navigator, but somewhere there is a 'clear cache' command to do the same thing. The programs copy a file, say nyy.htm which is my file name for the Yankees stats, to the temp folder. Then to save time it automatically grabs the saved copy when you go back. If the file has changed, it might load the new one or the old one - I think it depends on some program settings. Another way to do this file-by-single-file is to click the 'refresh' button (IExp) or 'reload' (NNav).

ON ANOTHER SUBJECT ...

Baseball Insight does not sell or trade mailing lists with anyone, anywhere, anytime, so a purchase from us means your name & address or email address will NOT be made available to anyone else. Our customer list has been confidential for many years, and it is a blanket promise we make to you. Also, no one here will call you by telephone trying to sell you anything. We do ask for phone #s to resolve credit card difficulties or errors.

Please remember the material here is copyrighted. It is my work and belongs to me. I like the idea of controlling when & where & how it appears, since I did all the work and I own it. So please don't post charts & articles to newsgroups. Getting your work ripped off is no inducement to do more and better work, I have discovered. The lawyers can be costly to the losing party, too.

And PLEASE do not give your password away to others. If I have to shut down somebody's password, they are not going to be happy.

YET ANOTHER SUBJECT ...

WE DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD. I hate places that do that and I will not do it to my customers. Before your subscription expires you will be contacted about renewal. You must affirmatively tell us to charge you before we will put anything on your credit card. You may be asked again for a number and expiration date. The secure server encodes the emails that are sent from it and seems to be working fine.

Cost of the rest of the season after a 8-week or 14-week subscription is pro-rated and depends on when your first subscription ends. After 14 weeks, rest of season will be $75. After 8-weeks, rest of season will be $101.

No new subscription will be sold for less than the $49 price, regardless of how many weeks are left in the season.
