BASEBALL INSIGHT RECORDS EXPLANATION:
Team records at top are Won-Loss and, for
some categories, average runs scored per game (by the team's offense) in the listed
categories. LEFT is record v. Lefthanded opponent starting pitchers, RIGHT is v.
righthanded starters.
Example: if Home v.Right is 2-3 5.2, then the team
won 2 games and lost 3 in home games when a righthanded opponent started against them, and
scored an average of 5.2 runs in those games.
Average score lists team - opponents runs per
game, by average runs, home & away games. A score of 4.8 - 4.5 means the team
outscored opponents average 4.8 runs per game to 4.5
Over/Under record is against the run totals
betting line, also broken down for Home and Away games.
BULLPEN ERA is for the season so far home and away
games, followed by bullpen ERA for last 10 games.
Unearned Runs per Game - runs given up on errors.
Pitcher records show team
Won-Lost in games the pitcher started and his Earned Run Average in each category, HOME,
AWAY, DAY, NIGHT, GRASS, TURF. No relief work is included in any starting pitcher
statistics. Asterisk (*) indicates lefthanded pitcher
Last3 is last three starts, with, say, lww meaning he won the last 2
after a loss, with the ERA in the 3 games. These are 2007 games only after first update.
QS/QS% are Quality Starts & percentage of starts that were
quality.
DOM%/DIS% is percentage of all the pitcher's starts with
Game Ratings of 4 or 5 (DOMinating) or 0 or 1 (DISasters). Above 0.50 is good in
the DOM category, below 0.17 is good in the DIS category. They are now divided
in two lines, DOM/DIS%H for Home starts, DOM/DIS%A for Away games.
GMRATE is a rating for each start on a scale of 0 (very bad) to 5
(excellent). Like Last3, the most recent game is at the right, prior games going
left. So 24335 would make the most recent game the 5, and the 5th game back a 2. There
will be room for the last 10 starts.
Pitcher Past records are v. the opponents he
could face this week . They cover: all starts v. these opponents in 2008, all starts
v. opponents in 2007, all starts v. opponents in the last 3 years (3YEAR) - always
2005-2007, and starts v. opponent at home or away in the last 3 years (SITE3),
which is always 2005-2007.
Example: if New York plays at Baltimore, SITE3
stats for the Yankees and their pitchers will reflect records away v. the Orioles
2005-2007. Same line for the Orioles will reflect their stats at home v. New York. Note
that these starts are also included in the 3YEAR records. Check your daily schedule
for home or away site. Some pitchers have changed teams or leagues in the 3-year
span - these records include all starting work for the three-year period.
*.* means 10 runs/game average or higher, **.**
means an ERA over 99.99.( or infinite, uncalculable)
Team records v. opponents are for same
categories covered by the pitcher histories, this year, last year, last 3 years, site 3.
Logs are of the last 20 games played v. the
opponent. Reading across they include opponent, year (blanks for current year), Date,
Won/Loss, Home/Away, Day/Night, Runs, Opponent Runs, Starting Pitcher, starter's Innings
Pitched, starters Earned Runs, opponent Starting Pitcher (3-letter abbreviation), whether
OST was Left-/Right-handed, opening 10-cent Line, opening Over-Under number.
Statistics are current through games prior to
each series covered, if possible. Next update will show second opponent first, then next
scheduled opponent, etc.
