UMPS, 2007 overs-unders
We do not track the umpires, but here is a list of those in '07 who were the plate umpire in more games over or under the betting number. The stats were from a longtime member/subscriber. Umps who had only a few games behind the plate were not considered. Last year just over 50% of games went under (not counting ties v. the number). The attempt to "smooth" the umpiring may be succeeding. Last year only three umps had either 65% overs or 65% unders when back of the plate, and two of those had only 18-20 games. The previous year, 6 umps made this list. We expanded down to 62% to list a few more. Of all these, only Diaz was on the list for '06.
