PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

It is spring training for handicappers as Baseball Insight opens its 2008
season with publication of Phil Erwin's 2008 Baseball Insight Annual.

The 200+ page edition is completely reorganized, with all new material,
dedicated to helping baseball fans and handicappers predict when and why
major league teams win or lose ballgames.

This year, all material about a team is located in one section,
making statistical comparisons between two opponents easier than ever.
Won-loss breakdowns for the 2007 season and the three-years 2005-07
are exhaustively covered. See how any team did in home games v. lefthanded opponent
pitchers, or in road night games v. righties, for instance. Find out which teams
did well v. over-.500 opponents, who did well as favorites at home, etc.
Note which teams have dominated which opponents at home or in road games
over the last three seasons, and how the teams did v. the betting lines
in those games. Run-scoring is covered in many ways, helpful in regular
handicapping and very revealing to the totals bettor.

When inter-league play begins, handicap those games using knowledge of how
teams perform against similar pitchers in their own league. Besides traditional
v.lefty-v.righty data, see our exclusive team records v. groundball and
flyball pitchers, and v. power and finesse pitchers. We have been doing
these ground/fly and power/finesse records for years, and the inter-league
games are an interesting test for their use.
Included are several charts covering totals and ballpark factors.

One unchanged feature is our popular Logs. These include a record of every
2007 game by every team, including post-season, with results, scores,
pitching and betting line data, plus umpires organized by team in date order.
Our Logs have proven indispensable for the researcher-handicapper.

The Annual is available by mail or telephone orders at the above address
or telephone numbers with credit card (Visa/MC/AmEx) or by internet.

gambling statistics publication so honored. His articles have been published
in Sport, Gambling Times, Total Baseball (1st ed.), The Experts,
The Baseball Book of Lists, and elsewhere. Mr. Erwin is a longtime member of

Mr. Erwin came into the field as a fan interested in when and why teams won
and lost games. Gamblers share his interests. He is a writer and businessman
before he is a gambler. Baseball Insight does not make selections or otherwise
tout games. We have no phone service. We do not take bets.
